These 18 women are preparing to deliver the "Rotherham Women's Health and Wellbeing in Motion" Project starting in July. Macmillan have chosen Rotherham to offer information, events and a peer support service to women moving on after breast or gynaecological cancers.
At the time that treatment ends, people are often only part of the way along their cancer journey, often needing support to ease themselves back into everyday life, as well as dealing with the consequences of their illness, whether late side-effects, possible recurrence or emotional fallout. This is a potentially groundbreaking method of continuing peoples' care after their treatment is finished.
