Starting a business can be an exciting opportunity but also, may feel a bit daunting. In order to make sure your business succeeds you need careful planning. This workshop will help you to move towards starting your business and will show you the basics of business planning and marketing your business so you are in a better position to launch it.
By the end of the session you will be able to:
  • Understand how to complete a business plan
  •  Have the tools to carry out market research to ensure you understand your market
  •  Be able to price your product/service
  •  Have an opportunity to explore selling skills and marketing your business
  •  Decide the correct legal status for your business
  •  Know what is required for HMRC – tax and National Insurance
  •  Look at licenses and insurances that might be required
  •  Know the basics of health and safety that will be required, especially if employing staff
  •  Identified all your start-up costs required for the business

This workshop is free of charge for people who currently live in Rotherham.
 
Who should attend? If you are unemployed and have decided what your business idea is and want to work on completing your business plan, then this workshop is for you.
 
The workshop will be delivered by Spectrum Futures CIC - the trading arm of Voluntary Action Rotherham. Spectrum Futures deliveres business support services to new and established organisations and provides training to increase the skills and confidence of people in Rotherham.
Course Trainer
The Trainer - Suzy Cornwell Ball - is an experienced business adviser, trainer, coach and mentor. Suzy has a proven track record in delivering effective workshops in topics ranging from Business Planning to Financial Planning and marketing.  She facilitates workshops using her strong background knowledge and experience to motivate others to reach their full potential.
