Voluntary Action Rotherham

Keeping people informed:

E-bulletins

The network produces regular e-bulletins with news of events, training, funding and other opportunities for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations in Rotherham. Bulletins include information about both national and local issues relevant to VCS organisations such as government policy, local consultations or funding opportunities.    Sign up now!

 Information Sessions

We also organise information sessions on a wide range of issues relevant to the sector – these are free, advertised through our e-bulletins and open to anyone volunteering or working for VCS organisations. To find out about the latest Information Sessions available click here

Feedback From the LSP

The VCVN also ensures that members of the network are informed about what’s on the agenda at LSP meetings and have a chance to offer their views at this strategic level.  Through these web pages and e-bulletins, we circulate agendas and summaries of any relevant information from LSP meetings.  You can find out who the VCVN representatives are on the different LSP boards and ask them to raise issues on your behalf; their email addresses are included in the section on LSP boards.

Supporting representatives on Rotherham’s LSP

The network recruits and supports individuals from VCS organisations to become representatives for the sector and to play an active role in LSP meetings and other strategic decision-making forums.   This gives us a chance to present views from the sector and influence decisions on how services are provided locally.  It also raises the profile of VCF organisations, offering an opportunity to gain greater recognition for the work they do.  They are also required to report back any information from LSP meetings which is relevant to the sector, thus keeping network members informed of any changes or new opportunities. – I do need to do some work on this bit!
