#YSFconnect is a free event allowing partners to hear from expert keynote speakers, take part in informative workshops, and to network with others in the sector.

This event provides opportunities to learn from existing apprenticeship providers whilst discovering what options are available for your organisation to get involved.

You will also discover ways to engage with your community, helping to develop your workforce for the future.

This CPD and networking event is open to all those working in the sport and physical activity sector across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

We are also inviting current apprentices to attend, including a development workshop alongside opportunities for organisations and the apprentices to network. All spaces must be booked in advance.

Speakers

Caroline Fraser, Head of Workforce at Sport England
Caroline will share the Sport England vision for workforce, painting a national picture on priorities regarding the sectors future workforce.

Colin Huffen, Head of Education at CIMSPA
How CIMSPA are developing professional standards for the sport and physical activity sector, and aiming to ensure our future workforce is fit for purpose.

Josh Bucknall, second-year apprentice at Club Doncaster Foundation
Josh will give a first-hand account of his experience as an apprentice working in the sector.

Workshops

All professional delegates will attend workshops one and two, and will be assigned workshop groups on arrival. Apprentice delegates will attend workshop three only.

Workshop 1 – Apprenticeships
An opportunity to share and learn from colleagues from South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire as to how apprentices are adding value. This workshop will also give tips on making the most of apprenticeships, pitfalls to avoid, and how in the future apprenticeships can contribute to achieving individual and collective visions.

Workshop 2 – Diversity and inclusion
How can you recruit and work with community members as your future workforce?

Workshop 3 – Delivering sport and physical activity in the community

Street Games will deliver an accredited, interactive workshop specifically for apprentices. This will give you an opportunity to learn about current best practice and network with others in similar roles.
