Carers’ Music Fund
Spirit of 2012 is inviting applications to its Carers’ Music Fund.
Applications are now open for music projects to support women and girls with caring responsibilities.
The funder is looking to support projects designed to achieve the following outcomes:
- Increase the wellbeing of participants through active music-making
- Reduce isolation and / or loneliness amongst carers
- Increase self-esteem and / or carers’ sense of potential
- Explore – and challenge – gendered dimensions of caring
English applicants can apply for up to £200,000; Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish applicants can apply for up to £50,000. All grantees can then apply for up to an additional 20% to fund activities for the cared-for.
To apply for this grant, you must be a registered charity, community interest company or not-for-profit organisation. The funder can support profit-making organisations as long as this grant does not contribute to profit making activity.
The funder has suggested that each project split its delivery into four “cohorts” over fifteen months.

Closing date for applications is 9am on Thursday 4 July 2019
The funder will be running a webinar on Wednesday 12 June for you to hear more about their vision for the Carers’ Music Fund, and seek clarification on any aspect of the application. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request joining details.
