Centre Volunteers Organisation Visits
Rotherham Volunteer Centre arranged some organisational visits so that their team of centre volunteers could build their knowledge about the roles and organisations that they are working with, so that they can pass this on to members of public when they come into the centre in search of a volunteer opportunity.
On Thursday 3rd July Kerry McGrath,Volunteer Training and Development Coordinator and volunteers Pascal, Phoenix and Lynne all visited SAFE@LAST and Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice.
Phoenix said about the visits ‘Thursday’s visit to SAFE@LAST & Bluebell Wood Hospice not only allowed me to better understand the organisation’s role and importance in the community/society, but it also shows how volunteers play a major part in their operation, how it helps the organisation runs and how both volunteers and organisations help contributes towards each other’s advancement and ultimately benefiting the community/society at whole’.
Kerry added ‘It was great to be able to meet with Mark Smith from SAFE@LAST and Sandra Hind from Bluebell Wood Hospice and talk to them about their services and some of the volunteer roles that we are promoting for them. Both organisations are doing amazing work which makes a such a big difference to people living in the local community.’
