The Enterprising Communities Programme
The programme has three main objectives:
- To develop capacity and/or community assets in coalfield organisations to enable them to become more enterprising and become more sustainable.
- To develop investment ready organisations. (By Investment Ready we mean the point at which a community organisation has the appropriate management structure and capacity to deliver a tangible output/project for an agreed sum, be it a grant, loan or contract).
- To maintain connections with coalfield organisations and respond to their needs.
The programme will include access to on-going support from the CRT’s Social Investment Managers, information events, networking with other organisations in coalfield areas, access to the Development Fund, if appropriate, and signposting to other sources of information and advice.
The Coalfields Community Grant Programme
Following consultation with community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises and hearing first-hand the difficulties they face in maintaining activities and securing the funds they need, we have decided to enhance our grant programme to respond to these difficulties.
The Coalfields Community Grants in England is available from the 14th April 2014. The new programme will provide grant funding from £500 to £10,000. This is an increase of £5,000 on our previous grant offer. We will also be increasing the income threshold from £100,000 p.a. to £250,000 unrestricted income p.a.
