Invitation to apply for the delivery of a dementia café and carers support worker service

The Council is seeking to appoint a lead organisation from among voluntary sector  providers in Rotherham to provide the below services in Rotherham, commencing 1 st April  2024, for a 3 year period, to 31st March 2027.  For more information find more details below or have a look at the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council website


• A Dementia Café Service: support delivered at various locations in the Rotherham community, in a group setting to adult carers of people diagnosed with dementia and to adults diagnosed with low to moderate levels of dementia. This service will be a social event with structured activity, information giving, open discussion and social engagement, and will provide people living with dementia with the opportunity to participate in a structured group and receive cognitive stimulation. 


• A Carers Support Worker Service (Dementia): individual support provided to unpaid adult carers of adults with all levels of dementia that live at home in the community,  to help sustain carers in their caring role and look after themselves. The service will be expected to improve the quality of life; and promote independence for  carers and people experiencing dementia, with a primary objective of the reduction in the  requirement for more formal social care or health intervention
