Ecclesiastical’s Movement for Good awards are open
Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has opened a £1m fund for charities called Movement for Good, they will give away the money in two phases, with £1,000 awarded to 500 charities in the first round and £50,000 offered to 10 charities in the second.
Members of the public will be able to nominate charities online for the first phase until 17 May, after which the winners will be selected at random. The more times a charity is nominated, the better the chance it has of being one of the 500 winners.
The £1 million giving programme has two funding categories:
500 charities will be awarded £1,000
From 23 April to 17 May anyone can nominate a registered charity for the chance to receive one of 500 £1,000 awards. The winners will be announced between Monday 3 June and Friday 14 June.
10 charities will be given a grant of £50,000
From 17 June to 26 July charities with an income of less than £5 million can apply to receive a one of ten £50,000 grants intended to support longer-term project funding. The winners will be announced between Monday 30 September and Friday 4 October.
