FREE Bushcraft Leader Training

The Oak Forest School Bushcraft Leader Training which will be accredited by the Institute of Outdoor Learning and is equivalent to a Level 2 qualification will give you the ability to teach a range of outdoor skills to young people in a survival/bushcraft setting.

Held over seven days you will learn:

  • Animal tracks and signs
  • Tree and plant i.d.
  • Game prep
  • Outdoor cooking
  • Fire building and methods of lighting
  • Use of edged tools.

Dates:

The  teaching days will be taking place on 5th,  11th & 12th and 18th & 19th May 2019

Venue:

The teaching and assessment days will be completed in our beautiful 140 acre semi ancient woodland at Howell Wood, Burntwood Lane, South Elmsall. You will have all of the resources you need at hand and all equipment will be provided during the course.

Cost 

The course running May 2019, is supported by a Bursary Scheme which is provided by the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund for eligible applicants. To be able to apply for the bursary you must live or work in the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership area (map available here)

For applicants not eligible for the bursary scheme the cost of the course is £65 per day – a total cost of £450. Payment is required within 4 weeks of the start of the course to secure a place.
