Free trees for communities from the Woodland Trust

14th August 2018

Community organisations can apply now for free tree packs from the Woodland Trust to plant in November. Resident associations, sports clubs, parish councils, scouts, guides and other not-for-profit organisations are eligible.

Informal groups can also apply: “You don’t need to belong to an official organisation. You could even set up a group for the purpose of planting, but you must be not-for-profit. The most important thing is that your group is willing to take on the planning, planting and care of the saplings.”

“If you’re applying for a tree pack as a community group, the land needs to be accessible to the public. You should also make sure your local community are aware of your plans to plant and are happy for you to go ahead.”

There are several tree packs with types of trees to choose from and sizes from a 30 sapling pack to a 420 sapling pack. Advice on choosing a tree pack is available.
