Have your say on where services are based

11th July 2018

Rotherham patients who use mental health and learning disability services in the borough are being asked to have a say on where services should be based.

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), who run mental health and learning disability services in Rotherham, are holding a public event on July 16 at the Carlton Park Hotel, Moorgate, between 3pm and 6pm.

The public is being invited along to hear plans and to have a say on them.

Most of the bases used by RDaSH will remain, these include The Woodlands unit, which caters for older people’s mental health, and is behind Rotherham Hospital, Swallownest Court, the Clearways building, on Effingham Street and Ferham Annexe.

However, the Trust is considering closing Howarth House at Brinsworth and a building on Clifton Lane.

A decision also has to be taken on whether the rooms used at Ferham Clinic are kept or those at Badsley Moor Lane.

The building review does not cover children’s services.

Dianne Graham, RDaSH’s Care Group Director for Rotherham, said: “We’re working really hard to develop locally based teams to make our services more easily accessible. We now have options for bases for our services and we want to hear your views and thoughts about them.

“If you are using or have used mental health and learning disability services in Rotherham, or if you have a view about about where they should be located please come along to our event to find out more.”

Service provision is not affected.
