Help make sure every child receives a gift this Christmas

25th October 2018

Last Christmas with the support of Rotherham people the Rotherham Christmas Toy Appeal managed to reach and provide presents for over 1,000 children within the Rotherham area. The generosity of Rotherham people helped give the children presents to open on Christmas morning something they may not have been able to do without the appeal.

Voluntary Action Rotherham, have once again joined forces with Parkgate Shopping, RotherFM  and Rotherham United Football Club and with the help of 6 wonderful volunteers we are hoping for even greater success this year.

Christmas is a time when Rotherham comes together to help Rotherham children less fortunate than many children. This appeal is something Rotherham can be proud of and by working together we can try to help even more families this year.

The launch of the appeal will be at Parkgate Shopping on Monday 12th November between 6pm – 7pm please come along as this is a chance to get together and listen to local schools and the Salvation Army along with Alexandra Hands Vocal Academy  which I am sure will get you ready for the Christmas period. We have children singing and reindeer’s! Yes real ones (the children and the reindeer’s)

If you would like to get involved you can pick up a small gift tag from the trees on Parkgate Shopping and purchase a gift from any of the stores on Parkgate Shopping, the gifts can be left in any of the stores up to mid December. You can also drop off gifts at Voluntary Action Rotherham reception or Rotherham Town Hall. Please do not wrap any gifts as we provide wrapping paper so that parents/carers can wrap them. (we prefer parents/carers to wrap the presents and to claim them as though they had purchased them)

If you work with families or children who would benefit please get in touch as we would like to reach as many as possible. Toys are allocated to workers who are then responsible for taking them to the families in question, they will not be wrapped but wrapping paper can be provided.

If you need any further information or would like to donate new toys please contact Ann Levick on 01709 829821 or email

If you know of any children who would benefit from a gift please contact Ann for a pro-forma, these need to be returned to Ann at
