Large Scale Online Youth Survey Launches
One of the UK’s largest annual online youth surveys, which attracted the views of more than one million young people last year, has been launched.
Each year the UK Youth Parliament canvasses opinion among young people across the UK on the key issues it should focus on each year.
This gives 11-18 year olds the chance to identify the most important issues for the UK as well as devolved areas and their local community.
Issues that are likely to attract attention include knife crime, the environment, mental health in schools and hate crime.
The top issues selected by respondents will be debated by the UK Youth Parliament in the House of Commons on 8 November. This debate will be chaired by the Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow and has been held each year since 2009. The issues voted for by the young parliamentarians will then become the UK Youth Parliament’s priority campaigns for the year.
Young people are being urged to vote online via a youth parliament Make Your Mark page.
