26th September 2018

Sheffield based tender and bid writing company, FCS Associates, have chosen their first ever charity of the year. The lucky charity, Changing Faces, have won a package of business support worth over £3,000 which includes a cash injection of £1,000.

Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity for everyone who has a mark, scar or condition that makes them look different. For over 25 years they have been providing advice and support, challenging discrimination, and campaigning for a world that respects difference.

FCS Associates provides grant writing support to business and charities. The team decided to launch the inaugural FCS Charity of the Year initiative to support local charities to access grant writing assistance. Rachel Fletcher, Managing Director at FCS Associates, explains; “We see the challenge many small, local charities face on a daily basis raising funding and bidding for grants to allow them to support people in need. We decided to launch our own initiative to allow us to give something back to the local community and make a positive difference. We were really impressed with the impact that Changing Faces is making on the lives of many young people locally who are facing really difficult issues on a daily basis and we are really looking forward to working with them over the next 12 months”.

As well as providing the business support package the small team of 5 at FCS Associates have also committed to raising £1000 cash contribution which they aim to raise by undertaking fundraising activities throughout the year. Rachel is already in training for the Yorkshire 10 mile on 14th October 2018. This will be the first time Rachel has run such a distance.

Catherine Deakin, Director of Fundraising and Communications from Changing Faces said, “We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as FCS Associate’s Charity of the Year. The support of the team in areas such as grant writing will be of enormous support to the charity, and will help us to support even more children, young people and their families in Sheffield and the rest of the UK”.
