Movement for Good awards from Ecclesiastical Insurance
Two new grants competitions are part of the Movement for Good awards, 500 charities will be awarded £1,000 and 10 registered charities will be awarded a £50,000 grant. The scheme area covers UK and Republic of Ireland. Application forms and guidance notes will be available when the awards open.
The £1,000 awards will be open for nominations from 23 April to eligible charities registered in the UK and Republic of Ireland. This could range from small volunteer-run groups to larger, well-known organisations.
To be eligible, charities must have been in existence for at least six months. Not-for-profit organisations that are exempt from registering as a charity can also apply and may be accepted as an eligible charity “at the Promoter’s sole discretion”.
The deadline for nominations is 17 May 2019 (11.59pm).
500 eligible charities will be selected at random to receive an award. Please read the terms and conditions.
The £50,000 awards will be open for applications from 17 June to eligible charities registered in the UK and Republic of Ireland with an income of less than £5million.
To be eligible, charities must have been registered with the Charity Commission on or before 1 July 2017. Charities that are red flagged by the Charity Commission (or other regulator) are not eligible.
Grants must be used to cover a specific project (rather than ongoing running costs). New projects are eligible or grants can be used to “take an existing successful project to a new level”. Projects must meet one or more of the following charitable objects:
- The advancement of education and skills.
- The advancement of citizenship or community development.
- The advancement of arts, culture or heritage.
The deadline for nominations is 26 July 2019 (11.59pm).
The funder will shortlist 15 charities. There will then be an opportunity for the public to show their support. 10 registered charities will be awarded a £50,000 grant. Please read the terms and conditions.
