National gas safety week
National Gas safety week runs from 16th to 22nd September, an annual event highlighting how people can keep themselves safe in their home. Yorkshire Housing Stay Put is supporting the campaign to raise awareness to householders across Rotherham & Sheffield.
For the past six years, the Stay Put service has worked with the Foundations Independent Living Trust to administer a gas safety hardship fund from the Gas Safety Charity. This is a valuable resource which supports homeowners on a low income or who live with a disability in Sheffield and Rotherham to access funds to get their gas appliances safety checked.
It also enables needs, advice and support workers to share information on gas safety, carbon monoxide alarms and other safety initiatives to consider in the home.
If you are a homeowner and think you might be eligible for support, then please contact the Stay Put team on 0114 256 4270. Or see the Yorkshire housing website.
