NCVO warns on no-deal Brexit
No-deal Brexit would be harmful for charities and the people and causes they work for, says NCVO chief executive, Sir Stuart Etherington.
Chief executive Stuart Etherington said such a circumstance would be “bleak for many charities and the people and causes they work for” and added that as the economy struggled people’s need for support would increase causing a strain on the organisations which helped them.
They have also sent a briefing to MPs in which it outlined the impact that a no-deal Brexit would have on charities, including the potential loss of 25,000 staff. It also made mention of the weakening of protection in certain areas of the country, which is currently strengthened by EU legislation.
