Northern College – Community & Me Course starts 28/10/19

Northern College is offering a new course “Community & Me” that explores the skills you need to learn, develop connections in your community and mentor other people. You will learn about active listening and reducing communication barriers in everyday life, as well as looking for new ways to be more involved in your community. At the end of the course, you will set yourself a target for further training, volunteering and community involvement.

What skills you will develop

  • Communication Skills
  • Research Skills using a computer and/or iPad.
  • Planning skills.
  • Teamwork
  • Action planning

Monday 28th October – Wednesday 30th October 2019

Entry Requirements

Students will need to be 19 before 31st August 2019.

£45 or fully funded for people on eligible benefits or low income (earning under £16,009.50).

Progression

All of Northern College’s courses are designed to encourage students to take up further learning opportunities.  After the completion of this course, you may want to think about other community development courses, such as Volunteer? Who? Me?, Peer Mentoring, Developing Your Community Group and  Safe & Ambassador course.
