Place-based giving fund
DCMS has launched a £600,000 “Growing Place-based Giving Fund” designed to support and extend local place-based giving schemes. This follows the publication of research commissioned by the Office for Civil Society which outlined huge scope for place-based giving schemes in the light of local government spending cuts.
The fund will make £100,000 available over the next two years (paid in two £50,000 instalments) for six early-stage place-based giving schemes.
Application documents for the fund outline that the government expects place-based giving schemes to be led as a partnership between local authorities, charities, CVSs, local trusts and foundations. DCMS is currently inviting expressions of interest (with a deadline of 14th December) and further information can be found here.
