Regenerating Wath from the Inside

16th January 2019

Visit Wath is a brand new Community Interest Company (CIC) which aims to bring together local businesses, community projects and visitors to the ‘Queen of Villages’. Founded by local entrepreneurs Tracey Matthewman, Mel Swanwick and Lou Mycroft, Visit Wath CIC is all about ‘regeneration from the inside’.

“There’s a lot going on in Wath that people just don’t know about,” said Mel Swanick, who runs Wath’s micropub Wath Tap (Rotherham CAMRA Pub of the Year). “Did you know we’ve got an AirBnB in the old gaol for example? That we have a music festival in May? We’ve seen how communities like Bawtry and York’s ‘Bishy Road’ have transformed themselves and with the support of our fantastic community we can do the same here.”
