Rugby League World Cup 2021 capital grants programme
“Created By” is the Rugby League World Cup 2021 capital grants programme. It will fund facilities and equipment that help to create accessible and welcoming environments for rugby league. Clubs, local authorities, community organisations or education establishments can apply. The funder is also keen to work with new organisations that think rugby league could really benefit their community.
The programme is dedicated to improving the environments where rugby league takes place; giving people more and better opportunities to engage with the game and to get active.
Grants are available to “invest in projects that offer opportunities for people from all different backgrounds to be active, across the men’s, women’s and wheelchair rugby league games.
Please note, revenue funding (e.g. running costs and salaries) is not available from this programme.
Grants of £1,000 to £15,000 are available for:
- Branded team kit and equipment
- Branded training equipment
- Grounds and maintenance equipment
- Goalposts and post protectors
- Small improvements or repairs to existing facilities
Applications can be submitted at any time up until the programme closing date of 23 October 2021. Decisions will be made approximately every 12 weeks.
Grants over £15,000 are available to fund new or existing:
- Playing field provision
- Club house facilities
- Multi-sport or multi-activity environments
- Sports lighting
- Artificial grass pitches
Applications can be submitted at any time up until the programme closing date of 23 October 2021. There is a two-stage process for large grants. Decisions on stage one applications will be made approximately every twelve weeks.
