Sheffield City Pipe Band are paying it forward

30th May 2018

City of Sheffield Pipe Band will be in Doncaster Saturday 2nd June to fundraise for Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd.

The pipers will be busking at Clock Corner in Doncaster Town Centre from 12:15 pm, 2nd June. Funds raised will go to Pioneer Social Enterprise who are trying to raise £1000 to pay for supplies of food for their food bank and volunteer programme. Please come along to enjoy the performance, donations are welcome.

This pledge follows the launch of Rotherham Pay it Forward in March. This initiative is a brokerage service where local voluntary and community groups share resources and peer support through acts of giving. As suggested by the name, pledges are given freely without expectation of payment.

This initiative was launched to support voluntary and community groups following the decrease in funding streams available and austerity measures. These groups are doing a fantastic job with the little they have, together they are stronger. This is just one of the fantastic examples.

Later in June Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd will reciprocate by pledging Safeguarding Training to the City of Sheffield Pipe Band.
