Passionate People Wanted!  – Rotherham District Scouts

Passionate about making a difference in your local community? Full of inspiration and not sure what to do with it? Want a fun, rewarding way to help young people? Then come and be part of the team that supports Scouting in your local area. Whether it is running exciting indoor and outdoor activities for our girls and boys, organising a cheese and wine evening to raise funds or helping to rejuvenate the Scout hut, any time you can give will help even more young people be able to experience the excitement and adventure of Scouting.

So how will you benefit?  Adult volunteers in Scouting, have a wealth of experiences to gain. From simple ones, such as the personal reward of seeing young people benefit from you helping them to grow and develop. Through to completing our Adult Leader training, which can link to Open College Network qualification or membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management.  No previous Scouting experience is required as training and support is offered to every volunteer.

Volunteer Holistic and Complimentary Therapist

We are looking to recruit several Volunteer Holistic & Complimentary Therapists to treat a wide range of clients who are referred to our service by local GPs and other voluntary and community groups. The role will entail discussing the client’s needs with the client in order for them to make informed choices about the therapies they may receive, and carrying out their chosen therapy in a professional manner. You will fill in appropriate paperwork for each client in keeping with the current Data Protection Act and ensure confidentiality at all times.

All equipment is supplied by Universal Embrace but the Volunteer Therapist will be responsible for keeping the equipment in his/her workspace clean and tidy.  A holistic or complimentary therapy qualification is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.

For more information about these roles or to apply online, please visit the national volunteering website – www.do-it.org or contact Rotherham Volunteer Centre on Tel: 01709 834464.  Rotherham Volunteer Centre offers appointments Monday – Thursday.  All appointments must be booked.
