Strengthening the Criminal Justice Sector

9th May 2019

Lloyds Bank Foundation’s Strengthening the Criminal Justice Sector programme is accepting expressions of interest for work that will achieve a positive impact on policy and practice around:

  • “Supporting the specialist voluntary sector to operate, become stronger and to speak up within the current very difficult prisons and probation environment;
  • Improving the policy and operating environment for smaller charities, particularly by seeking to influence the new probation system;
  • Influencing work further “upstream” in the criminal justice system to help divert and reduce people entering prison in the first place;
  • Influencing support for specific demographic groups within the criminal justice system.”

Grants of £30,000 to £300,000 are available for organisations with an annual income under £2million. Funding is not available for service delivery.

Projects must build the evidence base and increase knowledge, promote change through communications and policy work or influence the practice of others in the criminal justice system. The project must plan to have a positive impact on the sector (either at a local, regional or national level) within one to five years.
