Wentworth Woodhouse gin festival is just the tonic
But from August 2 it goes through another major transformation… And this one is just the tonic!
For the second year running, it goes from mansion to gin palace, as one of the biggest gin festivals in the country rolls in for a three-day stint.
The festival, which runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from August 2 to 4, features an eclectic mix of gin companies – ranging from niche artisan distilleries to best-selling brands.
It promises to be a gin-lover’s paradise… The £15 admission price enables visitors to taste as many tipples as they like – from London Dry to Plymouth, Old Toms and Genevers to refreshing citrus bends and fruit-infused versions.
All stalls will be trading to the public. Wentworth Woodhouse’s own gin will be on sale – a Raspberry and Pomegranate infusion created by the True North Brew company in Sheffield.
There will be entertainment, stalls and bars to purchase food and drink.
The event is for over 18s only. ID will be checked on the door. Visitors are asked not to wear high heels with a point smaller than a postage stamp, as they cause damage to the historic floors of the state rooms, where numerous stallholders will be sited. (Unfortunately only the lower floor can be accessed by wheelchair users).
Admission includes a gin balloon glass and booklet. Doors open at 6pm.
