Women and Problem Gambling – FREE Training

22nd October 2019

GamCare is a national provider of free information, advice and support for anyone affected by problem gambling, and have just been successful in gaining funding from the Tampon Tax Fund to deliver a Women’s Programme across England, Scotland and Wales. At GamCare, we find that many still think of gambling as a ‘male issue’. In our experience, that’s not the case and it means that women who are struggling may be less likely to reach out when they need support.

GamCare are therefore keen to connect with services who are supporting women affected by issues such as gender-based violence, multiple disadvantages, or facing isolation as we know they are at higher risk of experiencing problems around gambling.

We can offer:

  • Free Training for organisations and professionals with an aim of upskilling staff around early identification, advice, signposting and referral; and building awareness of problem gambling and its hidden harms
  • Free Treatment to women affected by problem gambling
