VCS response to the violent disorder at Manvers
23rd August 2024
In partnership with REMA (Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance), we have been working on the collective VCS response to the horrific scenes at Manvers recently. We organised a meeting at the Unity Centre where it was agreed that we should collate some of the impact felt in our communities as a result. To achieve that, please find attached a short form that you can complete to feed in from your groups’ perspective.
Statement of support from Voluntary Action Rotherham
9th August 2024
As the local support body for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) ‘front line’ organisations in Rotherham, we at Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR) utterly condemn the violent disorder perpetrated over the last week. This is not representative of our VCS members and nor the communities they work with. The VCS in Rotherham work hard to unite communities, tackle racism and build positive futures.

A New Digital Inclusion Service is launching in Rotherham
8th July 2024
This August, Citizens Advice Rotherham & District is launching a digital inclusion project which is part of a wider programme in South Yorkshire. The project's aim is to respond to the many and evolving societal challenges associated with fast paced digital transformations and increasing expectations to manage a life online without limits.
Cost of living pressures, ageing population, increase in online services, fast paced digital transformations. These are just some of the issues instigating our programme and why Digital Exclusion commands our collective action.
Digitally excluded residents in Rotherham could be missing out on vital access to information, opportunities, essential services, meaningful social connections and the ability to engage positively within their communities.
