FREE PCs available to Registered Charities in Rotherham

13th May 2021

Affinity IT Services Ltd is supporting registered charities via the Rotherham Pay it Forward register by cleaning and donating PC’s free of charge.

During the COVID -19 pandemic, Affinity IT Services Ltd, an IT support business in Sheffield, has been showing kindness and generosity to local registered charities.

As a result of lock down and social distancing measures, charities have adapted to the changes with a more IT focused approach, keeping them in touch with service users and ensuring they can continue to deliver their vital services.

In an effort to support, the Affinity IT Services Ltd team has been working alongside businesses, to collect PC’s that are no longer being used and “clean them” ready for donation to charities. The donations will save each charity approximately £1000.

After meeting with project worker, Michelle Scholey (Voluntary Action Rotherham) at an online networking event, Affinity IT services Ltd placed a pledge on the Rotherham Pay it Forward register where nine charities have already received PC donations.

So far overall, Affinity IT Services Ltd have passed on over 80 PCs and Laptops and this was in no small way down to the generosity of their clients and friends who donated machines to clean down and pass on.

Colin Beaumont, MD at Affinity IT services said “It means a lot to be able to help charities in the Sheffield City Region through the donations of PC’s, but we need to make sure we thank our clients and friends who have donated the machines initially.  Only with their donations are we in a position to hand them out to these very deserving charities so they can carry out their fantastic work in the local community.”

A PC recipient, Jamie Noble, Rotherham United Community Sports Trust said “With the help of the Rotherham Pay it Forward Register, Rotherham United Community Sports Trust gratefully received a donation of two PC’s for our job club”
