Supportive Conversations Training
VAR and public health been working with Vyv Huddy from the University of Sheffield, who has been undertaking some research, along with university students (clinical psychology), into volunteers and mental health. Vyv Huddy is clinical psychologist and senior lecturer at the university of Sheffield and has a keen interest in the voluntary and community sector and public health. VAR and public health at RMBC have supported Vyv to connect with partner organisations in the voluntary and community sector in Rotherham. We know that volunteers are undertaking more complex, frontline roles which may warrant more support and training, so this research has been really interesting and we hope to share the summary of the research with you soon.
Following on from this research, Vyv and his colleague Jenny Havilhand are offering some free ‘supportive conversations training’ to volunteers in the voluntary and community sector. This opportunity…
