Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Community Development Worker to join our South Yorkshire team. You will be providing tailored HIV & STI prevention work with the aim of reducing the incidence and late diagnosis of HIV and STIs
Community Development Worker Gay Bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM)
To develop expertise in and focus the majority of work on Gay men, Bisexual men and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM).
Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake outreach work physical and virtual settings where GBMSM meet
• Develop forums, groups and events that meet the needs of GBMSM
• Deliver community-based sexual health interventions including HIV, syphilis point of care tests (POCT) and STI screening.
• Work with community groups and other organisations
• Deliver workshops and training to professionals and community members.
Essential Requirements:
• Ability to work flexible hours (evening and weekend working required)
• Commitment to reducing HIV/STI transmission and improving sexual health
• Understanding of community development principles
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
