Job Description

About the Role
This role is integral to Roundabout’s maintenance team, and our goal to provide high quality accommodation to young people.

The main focus of this role is to support with preparing empty properties by managing stock control, completing inventories and ensuring that properties are well equipped and ready for a young person to move into – this includes stocking properties with household essentials, and presenting properties in a clean and welcoming way.

This role is part of the maintenance team and you will work with internal and external colleagues to arrange access for repairs and maintenance, re-decoration, cleaning and replacement of stock alongside support teams to meet the accommodation needs of vulnerable young people.

Key Accountabilities
- Complete void inspection sheets and share with the team to enable repairs and maintenance to be completed
- Order household items to enable properties to be appropriately stocked in line with inventories
- Manage stock control of inventory items
- Undertake cleaning of void properties and liaise with cleaning companies
- Work with Roundabout’s Maintenance Manager, Property Compliance Manager, team members and external contractors where appropriate to ensure properties are ready to let
- Work to reduce void turn around and re-let times
- Maintain high quality standard of accommodation across all services

Other Duties
- Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of young people and an ability to communicate to young people who use our services
- Report any safeguarding issues
- Report any health & safety issues.

Person Specification - Specific Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Experience of working in a property, housing, facilities, maintenance, cleaning or related environment.
- Experience in purchasing and maintaining stock
- Over 21, and hold a clean driving licence for more than 12 months. - Confident driving a small van.
- Demonstrate an understanding of health and safety
- Competent IT skills, including the use of email and Microsoft Office.

- Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise professionally with colleagues, contractors and young people.
