Base71 Youth Zone is dedicated to young people and makes a bold statement about the importance of giving young people high quality places to go in their leisure time. Open 7 days a week including school holidays, the Youth Zone’s purpose is to help young people grow to be happy, healthy and successful adults. The state of the art £10 million building provides young people with facilities that are second to none delivering over twenty sporting, artistic, cultural and general recreational activities each session. Offering young people the opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and gain support from friendly, warm and positive staff and volunteers.

With a busy and welcoming reception at the heart of Base71 Youth Zone, we’re looking for a Reception and Membership Assistant to create a positive first impression for every young person, visitor, and guest. You’ll oversee the front-of-house area, ensuring young people are signed into sessions smoothly, with attendance and payments recorded accurately. From processing new memberships and maintaining the database to handling enquiries and supporting communications, you’ll play a key role in keeping the Youth Zone running efficiently. You’ll also support session delivery as needed, helping to create a safe, organised, and friendly environment for young people aged 8–19 (or up to 25 with SEND).

You’ll need strong organisational and administrative skills, along with experience in a customer-facing role. Confidence in handling enquiries, managing data, and working in a fast-paced environment is essential, as is the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Experience working with young people, including those with SEND, is desirable. Above all, you’ll bring a welcoming attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service every day.
