Paid opportunity for Young Artists in Rotherham

We are making a zine for and by Young People living in Rotherham and we need an amazing Front Cover!  

We are looking for a piece of art that really captures what it is like to be a young person living in Rotherham today. We are looking for something that works well in print format, as it will become part of a physical, printed zine.  

If you are a creative young person from Rotherham, aged between 13 – 25 years, send your creative ideas to be considered! 

How to apply: Send your idea to amy.forde@varotherham.org.uk or Whatsapp 07907 867649. Please let us know a bit about you and your idea for the piece. Please also include examples of up to 3 images of your previous artwork and where you are from in Rotherham (postcode fine!)

Applications are welcomed in video, audio or written format. Video or audio applications should be a maximum of 5 minutes.  

Please also include in your application information on how best to contact you, by email and or phone. 

We will be paying the chosen artist £150 in Love to Shop vouchers. 

We will also grant another 4 brilliant artists the opportunity to have their work featured inside the zine; these runners up will be given £20 each in Love to Shop vouchers. 

Timescale:

Deadline for Expression of Interests: 12 noon, Friday August 29th 2025

Decisions: Friday 12th September 2025

Timeline: Art finished and sent to us in high resolution, digital format (png) by September 29th 2025
