"Volunteering with Rotherham Hospice, Families First and Rotherham Hospital Charity has been a reminder of the incredible work happening across our community." - Lee Jarman, Edge Waste Management

ree

Last month, Lee Jarman from Edge Waste Management contacted VAR to ask if we knew of any local groups that needed support during December; they were keen to give back, not just financially but with their time.

Lee was open to working with any charities that needed support, so we emailed through our Employment Supported Volunteering (ESV) brochure which details organisations that are looking for a help.  Lee didn’t just choose one, but two organisations, connecting him with Families First and Rotherham Hospice.

Lee and his team have spent hours over the last few weeks doing everything from helping to prepare for Rotherham Hospice’s Winter Wonder Garden and helping with the Families First's annual Christmas toy appeal. The team have also helped out at Rotherham Hospital Charity!

Here’s what Lee said about the experience:

‘’At Edge Waste Management Ltd, as a new and growing business, we think it’s important to give back not just financially, but by donating our time. Winter is naturally a quieter period for us, and rather than letting that time go to waste, we wanted to put it to good use. Volunteering with Rotherham Hospice, Families First and Rotherham Hospital Charity over the last few weeks has been a reminder of the incredible work happening across our community. December felt like the right moment to step up, support those who support others, and make a positive difference where we can.’’ - Lee Jarman, Managing Director Edge Waste Management

We think it’s incredible what Edge Waste Management have achieved over the last few weeks, and we want to celebrate the connections and partnership working that makes Rotherham truly special. Well done to everyone involved!
