Job Description
Rotherham Opportunities College (ROC) is an independent specialist education provider and charity with a committed Board of Trustees, seeking an experienced and reliable Clerk to the Board to support good governance and effective decision-making.
The college requires a Clerk to the Board for approximately 30 hours per year, to set Board agendas minute meetings and produce accurate and detailed minutes. The role would suit someone with a sound understanding of charity requirements and with experience in clerking, governance, or board support who is looking for flexible, portfolio-style work.
The role
You will:
• Support the Chair/Principal & CEO in preparing agendas and board papers
• Attend trustee board meetings, 6 per year, online or in person
• Take accurate, impartial minutes and record key decisions and actions
• Maintain agreed governance records and an action log
• Provide procedural guidance to support effective meetings
About you
You will have:
• Experience of clerking or governance in a charity, public, education, or similar setting
• Excellent written communication skills
• A good understanding of confidentiality and charity governance
• A professional, organised, and independent working style
