Job Description
This is a new role for people with lived experience of homelessness to gain experience working in the homelessness sector, with a view to gaining future employment with Roundabout. We aim to support the trainee to develop skills in working with young people, communication, team work and data recording.
The trainee homeless prevention worker role is part of Roundabout’s Homeless Prevention Service which consists of a number of different services working towards preventing young people aged 16-25 from becoming homeless in Sheffield.
As trainee homeless prevention worker, you will gain experience working in different areas of the Homeless Prevention Service. Through training and development, you will provide housing advice and support to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will also hold a small caseload of young people living in supported accommodation flats, working in a strength-based way to support them to work towards their goals and grow in independence.
